Let’s be real. You’re going to use the bathroom a lot while at Disney. It’s the byproduct of eating and moving around so much.
Specifically, you’re going to need to use the bathroom while you visit the parks, even if you traditionally avoid using public bathrooms as a rule . The good news is that there are frequent restroom locations throughout the parks, the hotels, and Disney Springs.
The bad news is that some of these restrooms can have occasional lines, especially the women’s restrooms. Additionally, the toilet paper in these restrooms is so thin that many people recommend you bring your own.
While we wouldn’t go quite that far, if that kind of thing matters to you, it’s something important to know ahead of time. Some people say that Disney uses this type of paper to avoid plumbing issues, which is understandable given the MASSIVE number of people in the parks every day.
You can use your My Disney Experience app to find bathrooms on a map, and you can also ask Cast Members where the closest one is if you’re in a hurry.
With all that said, we’ve found some of the best AND worst bathrooms in the parks over the years. It might not be super easy to visualize these spots if this is your first visit, but maybe a memory will spark!
The WORST Bathrooms
Okay, we’ll start with the worst ones, because at least having advanced knowledge of the ones to avoid is crucial, valuable information!
Bathrooms right outside of Guardians of the Galaxy at EPCOT
Look, we’re not going to go too deep into this one for…reasons, but Guardians of the Galaxy is a ride that causes a LOT of people motion sickness. The bathroom beside it should be avoided.
The bathrooms beside Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT
Although Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure was known to cause some riders motion sickness due to its 3D effects before they were removed, that’s not why this one is on the Worst list. It’s just incredibly small and can feel claustrophobic.
Next to Tower of Terror on Sunset Blvd at Hollywood Studios
Somehow, Kim always finds herself stuck using this restroom for some reason. It’s crowded and hot and always seems to be a bit messy, probably because it’s right at the intersection between Tower of Terror and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. Sometimes, there are lines. There are better, quieter ones closer to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After. Definitely use those instead.
The bathroom between Sci-Fi Dine-In and ABC Commissary
This restroom is shared by a Table Service restaurant and a Counter Service restaurant. It’s quite small and feels a little musty and even outdated, kind of like a bathroom you’d find in an old restaurant that hasn’t done any improvements in years. Additionally, Kim ALWAYS turns the wrong way when she leaves this bathroom. It’s inevitable.
The Toy Story bathrooms in Hollywood Studios
For Kim, these are the absolute worst bathrooms in the entire park. Don’t misunderstand. The theming is adorable. Unfortunately, this bathroom is also right beside Alien Swirling Saucers, Slinky Dog Dash, and Woody’s Lunch Box. It also sits right at the entrance to Toy Story Land as you leave Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. These bathrooms almost always have lines. Also, the floors can be wet and/or need the cleaning staff to visit. Given the number of people who go through here, it’s understandable that it would be hard to keep up.
Next to Star Traders at Magic Kingdom
These bathrooms are heavily trafficked and highly visible, meaning that you’ll potentially have to stand in line and that they are harder to keep consistently clean.
We are by NO means throwing shade at the Cast Members who bear the responsibility for cleaning the restrooms. Some locations are simply MUCH harder to maintain than others. It’s a math problem. The higher volume bathrooms require that much more maintenance.
The Tangled Bathrooms at Magic Kingdom
We know that these bathrooms are popular because of their impeccable theming. In fact, many of the restrooms at Disney feature some amazing decor. Tangled is the ultimate example of how it can be done right. The problem is that everyone seems to know about these bathrooms, along with the fact that they are in a highly trafficked area of the park, near both Liberty Square and Fantasyland. So, they’re crowded and often have people loitering in front of them, too.
The Best Bathrooms
Bathrooms by Satu’li Canteen at Animal Kingdom
Although these can occasionally be busy around meal times, these restrooms are always clean and tidy. Even better, they’re pretty cool, which is especially helpful during those hot days at Animal Kingdom. The temperature at that park can seem oppressive at times.
Bathrooms near Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios
We mentioned these as better alternatives to the ones beside Tower of Terror. You can choose these, to the left of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster if you’re facing it, or the ones beside the Villains show that are not far from here. The ones next to Villains will be virtually empty.
The American Adventure at EPCOT
People laud these particular restrooms for their size and especially their coolness. That might seem like an overvalued trait, but believe us when we tell you that if you’re overheating or feeling the effects of travel and too much rich food, cool bathrooms can feel like a lifesaver.
The United Kingdom Pavilion at EPCOT
These bathrooms sit right behind a lovely garden area, which is somehow just super comforting. You’ll typically find plenty of open stalls (be cautious during Food & Wine season, though), and they are well-maintained.
Pirates of the Caribbean Bathrooms
A lot of people would probably include the bathrooms in the walkway between Adventureland and Frontierland in their “Worst” list because they are so highly trafficked. While we wouldn’t go so far as to call those the worst, there is a better option for visitors to Frontierland. The bathrooms right beside Pirates of the Caribbean are tucked back and away, hidden from sight to some degree. They’re almost never crowded, which means they’re also clean. You also get some pretty jaunty music.
Restrooms behind Gaston’s Tavern at Magic Kingdom
Kim toyed with NOT including this one because she kind of wants to keep it to herself. It’s almost never crowded and, in fact, is typically empty. It’s also cool, comfortable, quiet, and clean. Actually, we’re just kidding. This one is AWFUL and you should never use it. No one ever told you otherwise. Please leave it just for Kim.
TRON Lightcycle / Run bathrooms at Magic Kingdom
Here’s another example of taking the opportunity to walk past more crowded restrooms and using the ones that are less frequented. These are right beside TRON, and there are a few Tomorrowland bathrooms that you’d have to walk past to get to them. Again, less frequented often means cleaner and more comfortable.
Bonus Secret Bathroom – In the middle of the line queue at Avatar Flight of Passage at Animal Kingdom
So, you’ll really only have the opportunity to visit these if you are waiting in this line, but these restrooms are SUPER helpful on the days when the ride for Flight of Passage is extra long. In its earliest days, this attraction sometimes had a three-hour wait, so Imagineers thoughtfully added this spot. This attraction still usually sits around a 90-minute wait for the majority of the year, so it’s good to know that you don’t have to leave the line if you have an emergency situation.
